Sims 4 No option for how to use magic

I'm so happy that they have brought back magic to the Sims, but I have to tell you if you don't read up on how to get started in the realm of magic you could get a bit frustrated like I did. When I first went to the realm of magic I could not get the option (How to use magic) to come up. I thought there was something wrong with my game, but then I noticed that the spell book would be in the same place as the mermaids needs which meant you can't be both at the same time.

Spell-casting

There are four magical schools in Realm of Magic and you learn them all. All spells you learn are keep in you spell book. Be careful a failed magical acts, including drinking potions result in curses. There are a number of curses, and a Sim can have up to three at one time. You have a grand total of 24 spells you can learn learn.

Tomes can be bought at Caster's Alley and tomes can be found in the Magic HQ's libraries,
Select a bookshelf and pick, "Search for Tomes" you can also find familiars this way to.

Familiars

Familiars are these little magical creatures you can purchase at Juan's Wonderful Wand Warehouse in Caster Alley.

You can also pass you Magic powers on to you child with what is called  Magical Bloodline,

Weak Bloodline: Gives 10% more Spellcasting

Strong Bloodline: Gives 20% more Spellcasting

Ancient Bloodline: GIves 30% more Spellcasting

Spellcaster Charge

Regular – In this range all magic behaves normal. No additional benefits or dangers.

Charged – Spellcasting is more powerful but success is slightly decreased. There’s also the possibility of becoming cursed.

Overcharged – Magic is even more powerful. Success chance is slightly decreased. There’s also the possibility of becoming cursed.

Dangerously Charged – Final stage of charge. Great power and magic ability. Great chance of failures, backfires, and Curses. Also a chance of Death by Overload. So be carefully!
